  • Tones: Chat topics, pricing preferences (e.g., Guest to Pay or Guest to Earn), and scheduling details.

  • Content Unlocks: Images, videos, or other media you upload for users to unlock.

  • Transactions: Payment details (e.g., credit card info via third-party processors) and point purchases ($1 = 10 points).

  • Communications: Messages or support requests sent to us.

b. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Chat Recordings: All 1-on-1 video chats are recorded and stored for 7 days for safety and dispute resolution (see Section 3).

  • Usage Data: Device type, IP address, browser, operating system, app activity (e.g., Tones hosted/joined, points earned/spent), and timestamps.

  • Analytics: Aggregated data on how you interact with the app (e.g., pages visited, features used).

  • Cookies: Small data files to enhance your experience (e.g., remembering login details).

c. Information from Third Parties

  • Referrals: Data from users who refer you via our referral program (e.g., their referral code).

  • Payment Processors: Confirmation of transactions (we don’t store full payment details).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide Services: Facilitate Tones, process payments, and manage your account.

  • Ensure Safety: Record chats for 7 days to review disputes or enforce our Community Guidelines (e.g., against harassment or abuse).

  • Improve WorldTone: Analyze usage trends to enhance features and performance.

  • Communicate: Send updates, promotions, or support responses (opt-out available).

  • Reward Participation: Track points, referrals (4% + 1% rewards), and contest standings (e.g., beta rewards).

  • Legal Compliance: Meet regulatory or contractual obligations.

3. Chat Recordings

  • Purpose: All 1-on-1 video chats (“Tones”) are recorded and stored securely for 7 days to ensure safety and resolve disputes.

  • Access: Recordings are private—no one, including WorldTone staff, can view them unless one party (Host or Guest) submits a review request due to a reported issue (e.g., violation of Community Guidelines).

  • Consent: By clicking “Connect” before a chat, you agree to this recording.

  • Retention: Recordings are automatically deleted after 7 days unless a review is pending, in which case they’re retained until resolved.

  • Use: Reviewed recordings may lead to account actions (e.g., 3-day freeze for first offense, permanent ban for repeat offenses).

4. How We Share Your Information

We don’t sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties for hosting, payment processing (e.g., Stripe), or analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), bound by confidentiality.

  • Other Users: Profile details (e.g., username, bio) visible to Hosts/Guests; chat content shared only with your chat partner.

  • Legal Authorities: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect WorldTone’s rights/safety.

  • Business Transfers: In case of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you’ll be notified).

5. Your Choices

  • Account Settings: Update your profile, opt out of promotional emails, or delete your account (data retained as legally required).

  • Cookies: Disable via browser settings (may limit functionality).

  • Chat Participation: You control whether to host/join Tones—each “Connect” click renews recording consent.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures (e.g., encryption, secure servers) to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure—use WorldTone at your own risk.

7. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Kept while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of closure (except as legally required).

  • Chat Recordings: Stored 7 days, then deleted unless under review.

  • Transaction Data: Retained for 7 years per tax laws.

8. Children’s Privacy

WorldTone is not for users under 13 (or 16 in some regions per GDPR). We don’t knowingly collect data from minors—if detected, we’ll delete it.

9. International Users

Our servers are in USA. By using WorldTone, you consent to data transfer to this location, subject to local laws.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR for EU, CCPA for California):

  • Access, correct, or delete your data.

  • Restrict processing or object to certain uses.
